Expanding Food Choices for Children with Sensory-Based Feeding Difficulties

Friday, March 3, 8:30 am-3:30 pm (Central)

(Lunch break from 11:30 am-12:30 pm)

Some children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) have feeding difficulties affecting a child’s ability to properly function at home, at school, and in social situations. This can also impact physical, social, and psychological development. Participants will identify: (a) feeding issues of children with ASD, (b) myths about eating, (c) the difference between picky eaters and feeding disorders, (d) common approaches to managing feeding issues, and (e) strategies that can be used to increase the food repertoire of children who are picky or problem feeders.

Presenter: Adrienne Gaither, OTR, C-SIPT
